Michigan Medicaid: Vaccines for Children Program

What is the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program?

The VFC Program provides you with all routine vaccines for your Medicaid eligible patients, ages 0 through 18, at no cost. This is a federally funded program offered through the state of Michigan.

This program helps prioritize preventive care for Medicaid-eligible patients, reduce disparities and safeguard communities from preventable diseases. The VFC program works to ensure no child misses out on essential vaccinations due to barriers to care.

Benefits

  • Cost: Enrolled providers receive all ACIP-recommended vaccines for Medicaid-eligible patients at no cost, while still receiving reimbursement for administration costs
  • Convenience: Our members can receive all necessary vaccinations directly in your office, removing barriers to care and helping close care gaps for your patients
  • Incentive: UnitedHealthcare Community Plan offers contracted Michigan PCPs a monthly Per Member Per Month (PMPM) payment for active participation in the VFC program. In addition, providers may earn additional incentives for closing childhood immunization care gaps through the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Primary Care Professional Incentive (CP‑PCPI) program.
