UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New Jersey health care professionals writing prescriptions must check the New Jersey Prescription Monitoring Program (NJPMP) database when prescribing and/or dispensing controlled dangerous substances (CDS) to members.
The Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act requires states to maintain a qualified prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP). UnitedHealthcare network care providers are required to obtain information from the PDMP prior to prescribing controlled substances.
You must comply with the laws and regulations governing the NJPMP.
