Texas: View the latest TraumaTALKS course
A new on-demand training course, titled An Introspective Look at Trauma and the Need for Self-Care, is now available to help health care professionals gain a deeper understanding of personal trauma and the significance of self-care. The course is taught by a psychologist and a trauma survivor. Psychologists, social workers and counselors who complete the training can earn 2.00 continuing education (CE) credits.
Course overview
This training is a 2-hour, self-paced course that provides practical tools for people caring for trauma-exposed individuals to preserve and maintain their own well-being. The course includes the following:
- 2 training videos, exercises and quizzes
- Mini videos of each self-care practice
- A presentation guide
- A professional development certificate
Upon completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify multiple practices to complete the stress response cycle
- Apply healthy tools to manage thinking and emotions
- Develop and use their own self-care plan
Who should take this training?
The course is applicable to anyone working directly or indirectly with trauma-exposed individuals.
